My future job.

The truth is that my dream was to be able to study Obstetrics and thus be able to work with babies. Since my little brother was born, I have felt an unconditional love for babies, this is because as my father died when my brother was 11 months old, I had to take care of my brother along with my mother. I was like his "second mother".

Considering what I'm currently studying, I would like to dedicate myself to the healthiness of food, to make sure that the food distributed to consumers is in perfect condition, taking care of the health of the people.

It is very important that the food we consume comply with the health requirements established by law, I think it's common sense that the treatment given to food should be very careful.

With respect to salary, I could only mention that I would like it to be enough to maintain a house and that it can cover the basic needs of a human being. I would not like it to be low, but not excessive either.

Evaluation of my Blogging Experience

As a first thing I must say ... AT THE END THE LAST BLOG THAT WE HAVE TO WRITE! Honestly, there were certain topics that were entertaining to write about, I liked that we could write about ourselves, it was good to know a little more about our classmates and that they could know me, but sometimes the topics were not to my liking and I did not feel like write something, basically why I did not know what to say.

With respect to the words that each blog should have, I found a good way to write about something and find a way to talk about it and not be so specific or say what is just and necessary. As for my writing, I consider that I improve a little, not too much, and that writing blogs without a translator was a way to learn more vocabulary and understand certain words and contexts that I did not know before. I would not say that I am already an expert in writing and that without help I could write a complete text, but with something basic, I think it could save me.

A recommendation for the topics of blogs in the future, I would like to be more free topics, as this would leave the willingness to write without finishing the ideas or words to say. This is because I believe that some topics that were treated in the semester were not to achieve more than 200 words. Or simply, I could not think of anything to say.

For a future, I think it would be good if we write about a particular reading, to give our opinion about what we have read and also to improve our reading in English.

Changes in my study program

The truth is that I consider that the curriculum of my career it’s well organized, I think it’s adequate that two years of transversal courses for everyone and then start with specific areas of what we’re studying but despite the fact that the curriculum is well organized, I think that should make changes in the contents that we see in certain subjects. I will take as an example, the subject "Introduction to Food Engineering I", this is taught during the first semester of the race, it’s assumed that it’s a subject dedicated to knowing what a Food Engineer does, and we begin to familiarize ourselves with what’s supposed, we will devote ourselves later, but this subject, has as purpose (at least in the semester that I gave it) to make reports on certain topics that involve food and listen to "talks" about former students who are now exercising what they studied I think it isn’t very useful to have a subject where we will only listen to the lives of people who managed to succeed in their jobs once they left the university.

As for the infrastructure of the University, I think we definitely need a casino, I don’t think right that we have a place as small as "Annex" for lunch, considering the number of students that are in this Faculty. Neither I don’t think right that we have to use the cafeteria of other Faculties to be able to have lunch since the space collapse.

Regarding teaching methods, I think there are teachers who are really interested in us learning the subject correctly and others who do the classes almost by obligation. In order to take classes, we must do a teacher survey, supposedly to make changes with the teachers and take measures in what the students say, but honestly, I don't notice a change in the attitude of certain teachers, so it makes me think, that the educational survey carried out by the students, they don't really take it into account.

Summer Holidays

On my summer vacation, I would like to be able to work during the last days of December and throughout the month of January. My goal is to buy a new cell phone and be able to pay the cost of getting a driver's license. Last summer I did the driving course, but I couldn't not get my license because I had to enter the University and I couldn't study the laws of traffic and the subjects of the University at the same time, since both consumed a lot of time, so I decided to postpone my driver's license for next summer.

For next summer, together with my best friend we plan to work together, it's the first time that she goes to work, so I think it will be very entertaining for her that her first time working is with someone she knows, and what better than her best friend. We still don't have a clear decision on what we will do, we thought it could be in the cinema or in a mall store, but we are clear that it should be something that gives us enough money to get what we want (in my case the new cell phone and the drivers license).

I intend to leave February free, so I will be relaxed before entering the University again. In this month, I plan to spend time with my boyfriend Matias, go out for a walk together and if we have enough money, go for the day to Viña del Mar beach. It is also likely that I will go to the beach with my mom and my brother , clearly if my mom has enough money to travel at least a week. If going to the beach doesn't work, I guess with part of the money I earned working, I'll use it to go to Fantasilandia, since for many years I haven't been to that amusement park and I will buy new playstation 3 games so that summer in my house, be more entertaining.

My favorite songs

It is very difficult for me to talk about music or my favorite songs, the truth is that I don't have a particular style of favorite music or a favorite song. I like a lot of songs, but none over the other. I put some playlist on spotify and I listen to songs that appear or I listen to radio.

Well, obviously I feel preference for some styles of music, like pop music, electronic music, classical music (preference to study), romantics songs, etc but within of my musical tastes, you will never find rock, hip pop or anything like that.

Normally I listen to music when I'm studying or when I'm back to my house in the public transport but I do it only to pass the time and I don't do my chores  in a boring way.

There is a duo called "Hearts and Colors" (which are not very well known) and I really love how they sing. Their voices are magical, together are wonderful, each of them is beautiful and when I hear them sing, I feel as it I'm floating in the sky. They have few own songs, the rest are covers of great artists, one of these covers that I like are "Can't Help Falling in Love - Elvis Presley", "Without you - Avicii", "I'm Yours - Jason Mraz" and their own songs, I like "Lighthouse" and "For the Love".

Postgraduate studies

To start, I was not totally sure what I wanted to study. I got in Food Engineering because I wanted to change to Chemistry and Pharmacy, but in my first year of study, I realized that this career had aspects that called my attention, so I decided to stay in Engineering in Food.

Entering to study it was a great blessing, because with my mom we didn’t know how we were going to pay the University, but everything was solved with a scholarship that I got, thanks to that I can stay here. Although I have this scholarship, is hard to pay what’s left of the total cost, so it’s not in my plans to study another thing after I finish my career, and in no way I want to use CAE.

If I had a choice to do any postgraduate, I would like study a Magister in Food, Mention Management, Quality and Food Safety in the University of Chile because I'm very attracted to the safety of food, I am interested in the fact that the food we are consuming is properly manufactured and of a good quality. The issue of "cleanliness" in every aspect, I am very worried, so I think that applying this taste to what I am studying is good and besides, I would worry about taking care of the health of people in general, through the food that they consume. 

Art from my point of view

I truly feel that I see art differently than everyone else does. For me, art goes beyond painting, music, theater, literature or anything created by man.

Well, I'm a christian, so my way of seeing certain things is different from "the ordinary". For me, God is the creator of true works of art, starting with the planet we live in, we humans, animals and everything that has nothing to do with the creation of man.

I really see that the landscapes that nature gives us is a true work of art that should be appreciated by everyone, beyond the beliefs of each one, we must admit that nature is really beautiful and that is totally worthy of to admire.

It is a true gift to be able to appreciate the nature and the landscapes that are formed with the set of flowers, trees, mountains, rivers, lagoons, rocks, etc. I would like to be able to visit places where nature can be seen in its maximum splendor, where there is no intervention of man and thus appreciate the wonders that our world gives us.

Obviously, we have lost a little appreciation and care for the beauty that gives us our planet. Today humanity is interested in destroying nature in order to make its constructions and if we continue with that mentality, we will only stay with the painted works of art that reflect the beauty of the natural landscapes that we have at our feet and that we do not admire as we should.

Videogames

Since I was a child, I have always been interested in videogames. Since I have memory, my father always downloaded games on his computer and I watched him. This also happened when I visited my grandmother and spent whole afternoons watching my uncle play his videogames on his computer. My cousin, when we were children, he had a PlayStation 1, with him, we played “Dragon Ball Z”, “Resident Evil”, among others.

More or less in 2012, an acquaintance of my mom gave us a PlayStation 2, it was the first time that I had my own console, obviously I was very excited and happy because it would be the first time I could play my own video games and not just watch. In that console, the video game that I liked to play was “Resident Evil 4”.

Then, almost in 2014, my uncle, whom I watched while playing on his computer, gave me a PlayStation 3, because I wanted to try play desperately "The Last of Us", that was the first game I tried on that console , I must say that I fell in love with that game. Then I was trying out more video games, going through "Resident Evil 5", "Beyond Two Souls", "God of War", "Assassins Creed", "Uncharted 2”, until arriving at "Destiny", which by far, is my favorite.

For now, I hope to get enough money to buy a PlayStation 4 and so play the second parts of "The Last of Us" and "Destiny," which are the video games that I most want to try now.

My best concert ever

I will tell you about my best concert. This happened a long time ago, when I was 13 years old. It was a October 15 th, 2011, it was the first time I attended a concert, so I was totally excited. The artist I went to see was Justin Bieber, today I'm a little embarrassed to say that at that time I liked him, but in those days I did not care at all the opinion of people.

Well, within what I remember of Justin Bieber, is that he was born on March 1st, 1994, in Canada. When he was a young child, he sang outside a theater in his city with his guitar, people who passed by saw him and filmed him, some of them uploaded the videos to Youtube and that was how Scotter Braun (his manager) found him. When he was around 15 years old he already had his first song "One Time", but the best known worldwide was "Baby", that song was the one that brought him to fame and made him known throughout the world.

The atmosphere during the concert was clearly of many crazy girls screaming for who they "loved", everything was very exciting, and there were people jumping, singing and dancing everywhere. Of course I was part of those people, I was doubly excited, since it was the first time I attended a concert and it was the artist's first time I really liked it. I enjoyed a lot of the atmosphere that is created in a concert, I shouted until I no longer had the voice to keep shouting and I kept singing all the songs "at the top of my lungs".

This is a memory I will never forget, since it was one of my first experiences in which I was faced with a lot of people who shared the same taste as me and the first time I felt so excited to attend an event.

A country I'd like to visit

The country I would like to visit is France, specifically the city of Paris. It would be a perfect place for me, because it is considered the city of love. I consider myself a love lover, so Paris is very appealing to me, and I have never been out of the country so I think this city would be a good place to start my longed for travels...

What I know about this city is that it is the capital of France and it is to the North of this country, I know that it has suffered terrorist attacks and that it enjoys the privilege of having one of the 8 wonders of the world, the Eiffel Tower and many more places which are usually visited by tourists.

I do not know if I would like to live or study in that country, I really think Chile is good for me, I have my family, friends and loved ones here, I think to start a life in another country where you do not know anyone and you have nothing solid, is not a very good idea. I only see Paris as a good place to visit for a while, to know all its tourist attractions and to have the satisfaction of having visited the city of love with which I have dreamed so much.

My Blogging Experience

For a future, I think it would be good to have us write about a particular reading, to give our opinion regarding what we have read and also, to improve our reading in English.

A Subject you've enjoyed studying this semester

Among the subjects that I have had to see in this year and a half, what I liked the most was General Chemistry (I and II) and Differential and Integral Calculus. Actually, I really like to do calculations, if there is something that I really enjoy studying is what leads me to think how to solve a particular problem through formulas. It is true that sometimes the results are not the best when one does not understand the matter, in fact it becomes tedious to study it, but once it is understood, it is very entertaining.

Chemistry I liked it since school, I love to see the reactions that occur, how the volumes of the solutions are calculated, how much I need from each solution for my reaction to work, etc. This particular semester, I found very interesting to calculate the pH of certain compounds and the way in which it reacts against another compound and the colors that each one takes depending on the reaction being carried out.

Within differential and integral calculus, I really adore derivatives and integrals, I like to think of the way in which an exercise should be performed, to fill a complete sheet of numbers to finally arrive at a final result and feel the satisfaction of having been able to perform the problem that seemed difficult.

A career related website that you enjoy visiting or an expert on your field.

Honestly, there is not a page related to my career that I visit regularly, what I see are pages that prepare certain foods, which look very delicious, but clearly, that will not be what I will do in the future and does not have much relationship with Food Engineering haha.

If I had to choose any page related to my career, it could be the College of Engineers in Food in Chile (http://www.ciach.cl/) or the FAO (http: //www.fao.Org/home/en/). The first one is dedicated to providing information on the activities carried out in the country involving food engineers, such as Seminars or Diplomates, something that I still do not consider very relevant for me, given the year I am taking the course. The second has several objectives such as helping to eliminate hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition, making agriculture, forestry and fisheries more productive and sustainable, promoting inclusive and efficient agricultural systems and food, among others. This page draws me much attention because of the goals they have as they are in helping different societies globally in something that is really important and vital for human, food.

My Hobbies

Well, nowadays I could not consider any of my activities as hobbies. Some time ago, about the year 2013, in my spare time I played sacredly every day on my PlayStation 3, I was a fan of "Destiny", "The Last of Us", "Resident Evil", "Beyond Two Souls ", among others. But as the years went by in school, I had less and less time to play on my console, so I've already left that activity a little, it is not as frequent as it used to be at that time.

Today, in my spare time, I usually do different things, depending on the state of mind I have at that moment. Normally, I usually have my cell phone, whether it's talking about Whatsapp, watching Facebook or Instagram. In my quiet moments, I watch series on Netflix, although it is very difficult for me to find some that manage to capture my attention, sometimes I watch movies, but I almost never get to one that can convince me at all, so I just close Netflix and dedicate myself to sleep.

Plannes for Holidays

Well, honestly 3 years ago I did not leave a place for vacations, either because there was no money to leave so I had to work.
In the summer holidays, I would like to go to the beach, Algarrobo specifically, to feel the sea breeze and enjoy the scenery. As always, go with my family, my mom and my brother, but it would not be bad to include a boyfriend on his vacation hehe.
Something typical I usually do on the beach, is climb up to "El Banano" entering the depths of the sea, is something that I really like to do. I also usually have boat trips, so I can enjoy the scenery and obviously, I can not leave the beach without visiting a craft fair.
I would also like to go south, I have never been to those places of our country, but I see it as a possibility of distant, since as every year, there is never enough money to leave a place far from Santiago.
If my wishes for this holiday were not to come, I suppose that I dedicate myself to work, to be able to raise money and to pay the expenses of the University.

The photograph I like

I have always liked the images that show landscapes of nature with beautiful colors, especially if they come from the sky. 

This photograph was taken by Mike Taylor, an amateur photographer, on St. Patrick's Day 2013 in Portland Head (Maine, USA). This photograph shows a beautiful night landscape with a northern aurora.
There are a lot of images that show these beautiful aurora borealis, so it is difficult to choose only one. This particular I liked because you can see a combination between the starry sky and the colors of the aurora borealis, which, I find fascinating. 
I find absolutely amazing, beautiful and wonderful what happens naturally on our planet, especially with regard to the sky, to see a starry sky, the moon in its maximum splendor and this wonderful effect of lights called aurora borealis. Since I learned about them, I have dreamed of traveling to countries where they can be seen from close up, I think they are a wonderful spectacle that must be fully appreciated in person.

My favourite musician or band

It's hard to say that I have a favorite singer or band, I really do not hear something in particular, but a little bit of everything. Whenever I listen to music it is on the radio, so you will understand that there is a "salad" of singers and songs that I like, but not one in specific. If I had to choose one that would draw my attention over others, it would be Evan Craft. I doubt if any of you know him, he's a Christian music singer (yes, I'm Christian).

When you think of Christian music, you imagine those choirs singing "boring" praises that may make you sleepy, but not really all Christian songs or musicians are like that. There are many ways to make Christian music, there is rock, reggaeton, cumbia, pop, etc., so listening to it may not be "boring." I like Evan Craft because he is young and his music is aimed at young people in general, he has also made covers of singers known worldwide, in fact he was nominated for Billboard in 2012. I listen to his songs from 2013, when I I converted to Christianity and within all the Christian music singers I know, it was the most current I found and I liked that.

My favourite piece of technology.

Well, as most people would say, my favorite piece of technology is the cell phone. Since I was a little girl I have a cell phone, my mother always gave me cell phones I would not use, or my dad bought me simple cell phones I could play with. The cell phone I have now got it after my old cell phone was stolen at school, my mom that same day bought me a new one.
It is a very useful device for me, I use it for absolutely everything. I use it to talk to my friends through social networks, search for things on the internet, study, speak for skype, save all kinds of files, read, create notes to organize my times, send emails, play, Watch videos on Youtube, take photos, listen to music, see how much time public transport travels to be able to organize my trips, what I love most, see my favorite Series and movies of Netflix and finally I use it as my alarm clock.
I use my cell phone absolutely every day, as you can tell, "I organize my life" through it, that's why I like it so much, it's a universal technological device that serves everything I need and is the ideal size to be transported To anywhere in the world.
I do not consider myself a cell phone obsessed, I can survive without this technological device, I can replace many things I do with other devices I own, such as Tablet and laptop, clearly in terms of comfort I would be affected ... I just regret not being able to call To people in case of an emergency. But I really enjoy the face-to-face conversations and the moments when I'm together with the people I love, so my life could be as happy as now.

Why did I choose this career?

When I was a girl, my dream was to be a doctor, not thinking about trying to cure people's illness, but I loved the idea of ​​being able to blow her heels through the hospital corridors, it's ridiculous, I know, but I loved that Image in my head. As I grew older, my ideas began to change because of the TV shows I saw with my grandmother. CSI: Miami, CSI: New York and CSI: Las Vegas, really influenced my thoughts ... I wanted to be a detective, to investigate cases and to be just as incredible as the people of those programs. I was very attached to that dream until my brother was born, this caused to grow in me an immense love for babies and children, so I decided to want to study Obstetrics, but really Biology and I, we did not take very well (although it is what I would really like to dedicate myself to).

Well, when I was about to leave school, I discovered that I liked chemistry very much, so I decided to study Chemistry and Pharmacy, not because I really liked it, but because I had to study something. It was my first choice when applying, I did not want anything else, but I knew that my score would not be enough to enter this career. Talking with a teacher I discovered that there was a degree in Food Engineering and that it would help me to change to what I wanted because I was in the same University that I wanted and also reached the score, so it was my second choice. This way I ended up here.

The University was a door to a whole new world for me, it helped me to leave my dependence on others and start doing things on my own and being responsible for the things I did. It was good to be able to put aside my shyness, shame and form an Aracely with a lot of personality.

I would love to say that in the future I will focus on seeing the mothers with their future children, but given the circumstances, I would like to work on the inspection of food safety and ensure that the population consume good and disease-free products.

My Autobiography

Hi everyone, my name is Aracely Constanza Jofré Carrasco, I was born on March 26, 1998 in Santiago de Chile. I live in the commune of Macul, with my mother called Amor Carrasco, 47 years old, and my brother Jorge Jofré, 10 years old. My father's name was Julio Jofré, he died on July 30, 2007, when I was 9 years old.

During my school period, always study in the same establishment, called Liceo Republic of Syria, located in Ñuñoa, very close to my house. Currently, I am studying Food Engineering at the University of Chile at the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, in my second year.

During my free time, I like watching movies and series on Netflix, going out with my boyfriend, meeting my friends, watching social networks on my cell phone, sleeping and playing video games on the playstation, but I no longer frequent using Playstation much because That I have many obligations and little free time.
